Special Olympics Nippon (Japan) Foundation became an official Charity Program of Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2024.
*Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2024 is held on October 20th, 2024.

Special Olympics Nippon (SON) is grateful for significant support from many charity runners since we joined one of the Tokyo Marathon Official Charity in 2011. Then, we have expanded culture of charity as well as the Special Olympics movement in Japan while receiving support from a bunch of charity runners.

Overview “Charity Runner“

First of all, you have to read the application requirements and Notes before applying. And, we are so sorry, but we only accept donations and/or Charity Runner applications from those residing in Japan. We are really apologies that international participation is not available for this year. We applicate for your understanding and look forward to your future contribution.

Entry Period:
On Friday April 26^th to on Friday, May 17^th, 2024 (JST)
(04/26/2024 to 05/17/2024 : JST)

Nomination:
First come, first served
*If a large number of the same time overlaps, a runner will be selected by lottery.

Capacity:
25（runners)

Donation Amount:
50,000 JPY or more
*Participation fees are not included in donations.

Entry Method:
You send the entry form within the donation period.

Charity Payment Method / Bank Transfer:
We will notice you who are selected our Charity Runner via email. Please follow the instruction in the email to make a donation within the period.
1) Payment method is bank transfer only. You will need to pay a fee when you transfer money.
2) Donations to Special Olympics Nippon are tax deductible. After confirming the donation payment, we will mail a receipt and a tax credit certificate to the address stated on the application form that we send.
3) A runner entry fee will be charged in addition to the charity (donation).
4) If you do not pay donation within the period after receiving the email, your nomination as a Charity Runner will be revoked. Besides, if you transfer less donation than your application to the bank, your nomination as a Charity Runner may be revoked.

* Payment method is bank transfer only.

About Donation

Donations will be used for all Special Olympics Nippon activities throughout the year, including the cost of sending off the Japanese National Team to the “Special Olympics World Winter Games Torino” in 2025.

Notes

(1) Participation qualification: 18 years old or older (as of October 20, 2024 on the day of the event)
(2) Please check the application requirements before applying.
(3) You can make duplicate donations to multiple organizations however, you cannot make multiple requests for a Charity Runner.
(4) We do not provide refunds after a donation has been made. If this charity project or event is canceled due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, the donation will not be refunded. If the selected charity organization has discontinued its program due to unavoidable circumstances, the collected donations will be allocated to another charity program.
Refunds are not also applicable in the following cases.
・If you decline to run due to your own circumstances
・If you do not run on the day of the event
・When the right to run is revoked due to reasons such as violation of the rules
・If you are unable to pay the entry fee by credit card
After confirmation of participation as a charity runner, if selected for another entry, priority will be given to the rights as a charity runner.
(5) Participation fees are not included in donations. Separate information will be sent to those who have advanced to runner entry.
(6) Applications by travel agencies not approved by the tournament organizer will not be accepted. If it becomes clear, the participation right will be canceled and the donation and participation fee will not be refunded even after payment.
(7) Receipts of donations are available. We will inform you when you make a donation payment.
(8) All registered personal information will be used for the selection of charity runners for this event and for various communications regarding the event.
(9) Regarding corporate donations, you are not allowed to make conflicts with the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon Official Partners, selling goods and/or promotion campaign using the charity program. If you engage in such activities or actions, you may not be able to apply for this event in the future.
・An examples of prohibited actions includes:
*Use of copyright or properties of the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon (name, picture, visuals, logo, etc.)
Example: “We/company supports the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon.
Example: “We/company supports the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon Charity.
Example: “Through the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon, we have supported 〇〇 (charity organization name).
*Advertising within the event venue and along the course.
Example: “Displaying banners, wearing an items that displays company name, brand or products.
